about

Violinist Billy Bang, an artist known for his unmistakable expressive force, led an intense and adventurous life, one deeply marked by his experience of the Vietnam War. In the contagious and whirling “The Nagual Julian”, inspired by a character from Carlos Castaneda’s books, he skillfully awakens the rhythmic spirit of Thurman Barker, John Betsch, and Charles Bobo Shaw to build, thanks to the guitar and bass groove provided by Oscar Sanders and William Parker, a powerful, Shamanic sound ritual.
